About Megan
Megan currently holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Madonna University and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University. She takes a special interest in secondary education due to her love of choral works; however, she has a great deal of experience with instrumental and general music. Among her favorite composers are Eric Whitacre, Johannes Brahms, Sergei Rachmaninov, and Morten Lauridsen.
In college, Megan performed in many musicals and recitals. Musicals include: Into The Woods (Florinda), Children of Eden (Eve), Guys & Dolls (Mimi), Phantom of the Opera (Confidante/Wardrobe Mistress),The Magic Flute (Third Lady) and Once Upon A Mattress(Queen Aggravain). In recital she has performed classical works by Schubert, Brahms, Mozart, Donaudy, Bach, Schumann and more. In concert she has also performed pieces by Claude-Michel Schonberg, Stephen Schwartz, Jason Robert Brown and many other contemporary composers
Currently, Megan is the Director of Secondary Vocal Music at Plymouth Christian Academy, where she directs choirs, teaches applied voice, and is the musical director for school-sponsored musicals. Music direction credits include: The Sound of Music, West Side Story, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Hello, Dolly! and Little Women. Her choirs have proven very successful at Michigan School Vocal Music Association's various festivals and are establishing a reputation of excellence. Megan is a member of Michigan School Vocal Music Association, Michigan Music Education Association, and American Choral Directors Association organizations.
